SBC Manager — Activation and Licensing
Every SBC appliance registers with the SipLive licensing server. Activation unlocks the full licensed call capacity.
Activating a Device
Go to Settings → Activation and click Activate Now. The device contacts the SipLive licensing server, registers its identity (MAC address, IP, hostname, version), and receives a license GUID that is stored locally on the appliance.
License States
| State | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Unactivated | Limited to the trial maximum concurrent calls. A red banner is shown on all pages. |
| Active | Full licensed call capacity. No banner. |
| Grace | Check-in has been failing. A warning banner is shown; calls are not yet limited. |
| Suspended / Revoked | Contact SipLive support at support@siplive.net. |
Automatic Check-In
Once activated, the device checks in with the licensing server automatically on a regular schedule. Each check-in refreshes the license status, tier, and concurrent-call limit. If check-ins fail repeatedly the device enters Grace state and a warning banner appears; resolve the connectivity issue before the grace period expires.
To trigger an immediate check-in go to Settings → Activation and click Check In Now.
Viewing License Details
Settings → Activation displays the current status, license GUID, registered MAC address and hostname, activation date, last successful check-in, and the licensed concurrent call limit. Changes to the licensed call limit take effect at the next Config Apply (one is queued automatically when the limit changes).
Account Linking
The Activation page also lets you link the device to your SipLive portal account, which enables portal-driven features such as HA peer pairing on licensed tiers.
If Activation Fails
- Verify the server has outbound internet access to the SipLive licensing server
- Check that the server's clock is accurate (TLS validation requires correct time)
- Contact support@siplive.net if the issue persists
