SBC Manager — User Management and Roles
Access to SBC Manager is controlled by role-based permissions.
Roles
Two roles are created at installation:
| Role | Access Level |
|---|---|
| admin | Full access to all features |
| read-only | View-only access across all sections |
Custom roles with any combination of permissions can be created under Security → Roles. Permission tokens are granular — for example trunks.view vs trunks.manage, apply.preview vs apply.run, backups.view vs backups.manage — so an operations role can be given exactly the access it needs and nothing more.
Managing Users
Go to Security → Users to view, add, edit, or disable accounts. To add a user click New User and provide:
- Display name
- Email address (used as the login username)
- Role assignment
- Initial password
Users can be enabled or disabled without deleting them: disabled users cannot log in, but their history and settings are preserved.
Resetting a Password
Go to Security → Users, select the user, and click Reset Password. A new password can be set directly from the edit form. Users can change their own password at any time under My Password.
